Ultimate Guide To January Detox

Ultimate Guide To January Detox

New Year, Healthy You! While the word detox doesn't appeal to some, January is definitely a good time to cleanse the body, especially post-Christmas indulgence!

In many parts of the world, particularly where Christmas or the Winter Solstice are celebrated, the end of the calendar year represents a time of over-indulgence. A lot more food and alcohol combined with less physical activity are very common. However with the start of the New Year, many of us want to bring some changes to our diet and lifestyle, sometimes just for a short time, while others commit to long-term changes.

We believe the secret to a good January detox is to eat well and to slowly get back into an exercise routine. Here are so more tips we have gathered to get your 2023 off to a great start!

Milk Thistle For Liver Detox

Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) is a flowering plant that comes from the same family as the daisy. Also known as Mary thistle or holy thistle, milk thistle grows in Mediterranean countries and people use it to make natural remedies.

Milk thistle is a traditional herbal aid for the relief of digestive disorders, the feeling of fullness and indigestion and for the support of liver function. A super supplement for your liver!

Immunity Support

We feel your first line of defense is to choose a healthy lifestyle and nutrional plan. Following general good-health guidelines is the single best step you can take toward naturally keeping your immune system working properly. Every part of your body, including your immune system, functions better when protected from environmental assaults and bolstered by healthy-living strategies.

Top tips we believe you should start with are:

Don't smoke.
Eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables.
Exercise regularly.
Maintain a healthy weight.
If you drink alcohol, drink only in moderation.
Get adequate sleep.

There are a wide range of supplements available too which can help improve your immune system over the colder months. We recommend Viridian Vitamin D3 which can be bought in liquid form or capsules.

Herbal Remedies

We recommend a nice herbal tea to sip on throughout the Winter by Pukka called Feel New Tea. Made with organic aniseed, fennel seed, cardamom pod, licorice root, coriander seed and turmeric root, this tea is a refreshing blend to be enjoyed throughout the day.

Clipper Detox Tea is a delicious, and refreshing infusion with hibiscus, liquorice root, nettle & aloe vera. Naturally caffeine free, and perfect for that January cleanse!

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an essential vitamin for good health and immunity also. It is a strong antioxidant and has many other health benefits. Several studies have indicated that Vitamin C can help protect the liver and help your body detoxify alcohol.

It is advised to avoid self-medication. You should also always seek advice from a health professional if pregnant or breast feeding.
